Grants
We have been selected to apply for an animal welfare grant. If we received the grant it would be an immense financial help to ensure the sustainability of the shelter and ensure that we could continue our mission of taking in unwanted cats and dogs in a no-kill environment. However, this agency requires a DVD consisting of a “shelter tour.” We are asking any supporters out there if they would be willing to loan us their DVD recorder and their time in order to make this video. Without the DVD we will be unable to apply for this grant and will not receive any of the generous funding that is available. If you could help at all with this important project please contact Tami.
Friends of Fuzie Faniez
We wanted to introduce everyone to a few special friends of Hope4FuzieFaniez. Mary comes to the shelter nearly every day and cleans and works on socializing the animals. She spends extra time with those dogs that need a little extra attention before they can be adopted and she is so indispensable. Bill also helps the shelter by building and fixing so many things for us. A big thank you to you both!

Some sad news
We do have a sad note to pass on to everyone. One of our residents, Roscoe, has passed
away this month. He had been
abandoned in

you can help:
Cages
We still are in need of some new
cages. We did receive several of
these from supporters but these little guys below are the remaining animals
that are in need of a new cage. You
can see the cages here: http://homeandkennel.petedge.com/ProSelect-Fold-Down-Crates-Fashion-Colors-ZW719.pro?parentCategoryId=194&categoryId=310&subCategoryId=502. If you’d like to donate a cage, be
sure to let Tami know which lucky little dog you’d like to live in your
cage!

Air conditioners
Our main shelter is a large structure that is well-ventilated and is generally quite comfortable for the residents and adoptable animals. We have a smaller, adjacent room that houses small dogs and dogs that require special care. This room tends to become quite hot in the summer and we are in need of a few stand-alone air conditioners for this room.
Success
stories:
Dolly had been at the shelter for quite some time and now has
finally found her new home. She
slept most of the way to her new place so we think she knew this was where she
was supposed to be. That night she
slept under her new owners’ bed and in the morning she played tag with
her new friend Dandy! She even got
into the toy box and helped herself to a ball and a teddy bear. Dolly is
finally home.

Scamp
(from Judy and George)
My husband use to live with 2 Siamese cats: I was privileged to know both of them. So when we decided to get another cat/kitten we wanted a Himalayan or a Siamese. We made a lot of phone calls, and checked out several websites just because we wanted a specific breed. Then my husband George located Hope4FF and Tami. We picked Scampie up March 28th and our life and home have never been the same! Some of her other names are Scampers, half-n-half, Schnicklefritz, Princess Tailsong, and Pretty Toes. We staff persons (new mommy and daddy) spent lots of time each day on the floor reassuring her while she spent her first few days in the newly remodeled bathroom. The morning of April 3rd she had decided she had been confined long enough and came upstairs to meet Lucky age 12 and Rajah age 14. The purrs starting getting more frequent and the hisses less frequent........ Her first vet visit was not her favorite thing, but after she got home and realized she was back in paradise where she was adored and was just fine. She now has a new pink collar with a jingle bell, and rhinestone pawprints. She sleeps with her new family, and has livened up their lives a lot! It is just as if she grew up with the 4 of us!
