June 2009
Welcome to June!
THIS IS THE LAST MONTH FOR THE PHOTO CONTEST!!
If you’d like to enter our first annual pet photo calendar contest or just want to know more, check out the details on our new webspace at http://www.hope4fuziefaniez.com/events.html. It’s a great way to get “exposure” for your pet while helping a great cause!
T-shirts
We now have Hope4FuzieFaniez t-shirts for sale! These are available in sizes M-4XL for $25 for the first shirt and $20 for each additional shirt. Shipping is FREE! Check out the order page on our new website and 100% of the sale of these shirts goes directly to caring for the animals.
Website
Speaking of our website, we’ve been working on building all of the pages and FINALLY have the adoptable dogs and residents sections done! We only have the adoptable cats and a few other administrative pages left and then the whole website will finally be complete. Thank you for your patience and be sure to check out the dogs currently looking for a home and temporary residents that need a little time before they can be adopted into new families. If you aren’t in a position to adopt please consider sponsoring a resident and ensuring that Hope4FuzieFaniez can continue to provide safe shelter for unwanted animals and those that are at risk of being euthanized for space. We can’t save them all but with your help we can save more.

How
you can help:
Shelter contest
Petfinder just started up a
shelter contest and is giving away lots of free grant money. To support the shelter and cast your vote go
to http://www.theanimalrescuesite.com/clickToGive/shelterchallenge.faces?siteId=3. You can vote once per day every day until
July 26, 2009 and as a reminder, the shelter is registered in Grover, CO. It’s a great way to help the animals without
any cost to you but a few moments of your time.
Please help Hope4FuzieFaniez by casting your daily vote and getting us
closer to the grant prizes!
Cages
Right now, we need some new
cages. We have several small dogs that
are terrified of anyone and everything and basically just need more
attention. We have a special room at the
shelter for these little guys but we would like to provide them with some new
cages since the ones we are currently using are getting old, rusty and becoming
unsafe for the dogs. The cages that Tami
has selected are affordable and attractive (they come in pink or blue!) but
most of all are durable and have just the right level of exposure that scared
dogs need to get accustomed to their surroundings while still feeling safe in
their own space. You can see the cages
here: http://homeandkennel.petedge.com/ProSelect-Fold-Down-Crates-Fashion-Colors-ZW719.pro?parentCategoryId=194&categoryId=310&subCategoryId=502. We’ve already have five cages donated, so
these last little guys are the few that do not yet have a cage. If you’d like to donate a cage, be sure to
let Tami know which lucky little dog you’d like to live in your cage!

We still have a few cats that are
need of cages as well. We have several
cats at the shelter that have issues that need individual attention. Some of the kitties are older and are
dominated by younger cats. Other kitties
just don’t play well with others. We
need a way to keep them socialized but not at the expense of the other
animals. Therefore we need to purchase a
few stand alone cat enclosures. If you’d
like to purchase a cat cage they are available at: http://homeandkennel.petedge.com/ProSelect-Standard-Foldable-Cat-Cages-ZW334.pro?parentCategoryId=194&categoryId=310&subCategoryId=502.
These are the special cats that
still need a cage. Please let Tami know
which lucky kitty will be provided with a new place to live!

Success
story:
(from Ally Ostrowski)
This month is a pretty special success story to me. When Mike and I first visited the Hope4FuzieFaniez shelter we adopted two cats (Ursula and Dracula). There was another kitty there that was also quite cute and her name was Scamp. Scamp was a snowshoe Siamese that was living in the cage under Dracula. She was scared of other animals and even more terrified of people. Mike tried to touch her but she pressed herself in the corner and hid. About one year later Tami told us that Scamp would finally be going to her home with her new mom, Judy. As you can see in the picture Scamp has come a long way and now loves to be held and admired. She just needed a little time and patience and now she has an amazing new life with Judy. Thanks to Tami for having the patience to care for this little girl and get her properly socialized and a big thank you to Judy for noticing the precious kitty and taking her home forever.
